West Sunset Field Map (aka "Jim Lucey Field") & Directions

From the South (including Sunset, Silicon Valley, 280N)

Via 19th Ave:

• 1. Follow signs to Hwy 1/Golden Gate Bridge.
• 2. Exit Brotherhood Way.
• 3. Turn right on Lake Merced.
• 4. Follow the road as it winds around the lake.
• 5. Road turns into Sunset Blvd.
• 6. Follow Sunset Blvd until you reach, then pass Taraval.
• 7. At Santiago, turn right.
• 8. Then take an immediate left onto 36th.
• TIP: You're doing this turn sequence because left turns off Sunset Blvd. are not allowed as you might notice from all those pretty road signs.
• 9. At Rivera, turn left.
• 10. Cross Sunset Blvd.
• 11. Turn right on 39th.
• 12. Park at or near the entrance to the fields at 39th & Quintara.
• TIP: There is also a small parking lot 1/2 block downhill on Quintara that you can use.

From the East (including Downtown, Bay Bridge, East Bay, 80W, 101N)

 

• 1. Take 80W to SF (Bay Bridge).
• TIP: You can skip steps #2-7 if you know how to take the 'new' Octavia Blvd exit off 101 directly to reach Fell St. Then resume directions at #8, below. We will update these directions when we have more exact wording for Octavia Blvd.
• 2. Take the 9TH ST exit towards Civic Ctr./Golden Gate Bridge.
• 3. Turn Left on Harrison.
• 4. Turn Right on 9TH St.
• 5. Turn Left on Hayes.
• 6. Turn Left on Gough.
• 7. Turn Right on Fell.
• 8. Stay in two left lanes.
• 9. As Fell splits (right after Stanyan, where it runs into Golden Gate Park), follow the split to the left (i.e., do not enter the park right now).
• 10. Fell then turns into Lincoln Way.
• 11. Follow Lincoln for about 2.2 miles until you reach, then pass 36th Ave. Move over to left turn lane.
• 12. Use the left turn lane @ 37th Ave. to turn left, but veer hard to the left to follow the arrow onto Sunset Blvd.
• TIP: If you miss this veer and end up on 37th, no big deal, just take your next left from 37th, then a right to get onto Sunset Blvd.
• 13. Follow Sunset Blvd. South until you reach, then pass Quintara.
• 14. Turn right on Rivera.
• 15. Turn right on 39th.
• 16. Park at or near the entrance to the fields at 39th & Quintara (there is also a small parking lot 1/2 block downhill on Quintara that you can use).
• TIP: Going all the way down Sunset to Rivera can get a little slow, especially during evening rush hour. It is sometimes faster to turn right at Ortega, 3 blocks earlier than Rivera, then using 41st Ave. to wind your way around the back of the West Sunset complex with all left turns.

From the North (including Richmond, Marina, Marin County, Golden Gate Bridge, 101S):

• 1. Take Park Presidio Blvd./Hwy 1/ US 101 southbound.
• 2. Proceed southbound about 2 mi. until you reach, then pass Fulton St. to enter Golden Gate park on the North side.
• 3. Continue southbound all the way through the park, but move toware right lane as the park comes to an end on the South side.
• 4. Turn right on Lincoln Way at busy intersection where the road you were on becomes 19th Ave.
• 5. Follow Lincoln for about 5 min. until you reach, then pass 36th Ave. Move over to left turn lane.
• 6. Use the left turn lane @ 37th Ave. to turn left, but veer hard to the left to follow the arrow onto Sunset Blvd.
• TIP: If you miss this veer and end up on 37th, no big deal, just take your next left from 37th, then a right to get onto Sunset Blvd.

Walking directions from L-Taraval:

• 1. Take the outbound L-Taraval to 36th Ave. & Taraval. Exit the train at 36th Ave.
• 2. Allow another 5-10 min. to get to the West Sunset Fields on foot.
• 3. Cross Sunset Blvd.
• 4. Turn right on 39th.
• 5. Proceed 3 more blocks to the fields at 39th & Quintara.
