Beach Ultimate is played at stairwell #9,
just north of where Fulton St. meets The Great Highway
From the South (including Sunset, Silicon Valley, 280N)
Via 19th Ave:
- TIP: Left turns are prohibited on 19th Ave, so as you're coming up 19th Ave.
from I-280N, you'll need to do a series of (legal) right and left turns to point yourself due west toward your final destination.
- 1. Proceed North on 19th Ave., then turn right on Irving St.
- 2. Turn Left on 18th Ave.
- 3. Turn Left on Lincoln Way.
- 4. Follow Lincoln for 2 mi. until it ends at The Great Highway, overlooking Ocean Beach.
- 5. Turn Right onto Great Hwy and proceed to the next light.
- 6. At Fulton St., turn left to enter the beach parking area.
- 7. Find stairwell #9, just north of where Fulton St. meets The Great Highway.
Via Skyline Blvd (Hwy 35):
- TIP: To access Skyline Blvd, you'll exit from 280N much sooner than 19th Ave. This way is not only a lot prettier than 19th Ave, but it can be a lot faster too during peak traffic times, including weekends.
- 1. Exit 280N from any of several points beginning with Sneath Lane in San Bruno. You can also use Westborough or Hickey exits farther to the north.
- 2. Regardless which exit you use, turn left, and drive uphill about 5 minutes to reach Skyline Blvd / Hwy 35.
- 3. Turn Right onto Skyline Blvd / Hwy 35, heading north toward San Francisco.
- 4. Soon after you pass John Muir Dr., move left to prepare for turn.
- 5. Turn Left onto The Great Highway at the stop sign.
- TIP: During the winter storm season, the turn onto Great Hwy is sometimes closed. If so, continue straight, looking for detour signs to Sloat Blvd. Head west (left) on Sloat to connect to Great Hwy.
- 6. Proceed north on Great Hwy 3 mi. until you reach the Golden Gate Park area and pass Beach Chalet Restaurant.
- 7. At Fulton St., turn left to enter the beach parking area.
- 8. Find stairwell #9, just north of where Fulton St. meets The Great Highway.

From the East (including Downtown, Bay Bridge, East Bay, 80W, 101N)
- 1. Take 80W to SF (Bay Bridge).
- 2. Coming off the bridge, 80W becomes US Hwy 101. Follow US Hwy 101 signs until you get past Ninth St. exit. Move to right.
- 3. Take Exit 1B on the right for 101 North / Golden Gate Bridge direction.
- 4. Merge with traffic on left, then take Exit 434B for Octavia Blvd / Fell St. Do not follow signs on the right to 101 / Van Ness Ave or Duboce St.
- TIP: If traffic for the Octavia / Fell exit is backed up, try using the right-hand lane, it is a little bit faster than the left-hand lane.
- 5. Continue straight through first light onto Octavia Blvd, continuing through 4 more lights until road ends.
- 6. This part of Octavia Blvd ends at Fell St., forcing you left onto Fell.
- 7. Stay on Fell St. for several miles.
- TIP: The lights on Fell St. are timed for you to catch one green after another. Use middle lane out of 3 to avoid getting stuck in heavy traffic.
- 8. After passing Divisadero, move right to prepare for turn.
- 9. Turn Right on Masonic.
- 10. Turn Left on Fulton.
- 11. Follow Fulton St. for 4 miles until it ends at The Great Highway, overlooking Ocean Beach.
- 12. Cross highway to enter beach parking area. Find stairwell #9, just north of where Fulton St. meets The Great Highway.

From the North (including Richmond, Marina, Marin County, Golden Gate Bridge, 101S):
- 1. Take Park Presidio Blvd./Hwy 1/ US 101 southbound.
- 2. Turn Right on Fulton St.
- 3. Follow Fulton St. for 2 miles until it ends at The Great Highway, overlooking Ocean Beach.
- 4. Cross highway to enter beach parking area. Find stairwell #9, just north of where Fulton St. meets The Great Highway.
