San Francisco Recreational League (SF Rec League)

Summer 2010 League

Summer League signups opened in early June. We will process the men's wait list throughout the season, which runs from June to August. A wait list has formed for women on both nights, but it is very short. We highly encourage women to join the wait list on either night, as you will likely get onto a team sooner or later.

Once again we are hosting two nights of league play in San Francisco starting June 22nd (Tuesday League) and June 24th (for the Thursday League). All games will be at the same time each week, 6:00 to 8:30 PM. The SF Rec League is beginner-friendly, and very popular for players of all skill levels. Every player gets a team shirt and a disc.

Please note that summer league games will not be at the same fields every week. The Tuesday League will split its games between the Polo Field and Beach Chalet. Similarly, the Thursday League will split its games between the Polo Field and West Sunset. We'll post a full game schedule here once we've drafted up teams the weekend before each league starts.

Also, beware that the scheduling of SF Rec League events is not quite the same as that of some of the other leagues in Bay Area Disc Association. If you sign up for Tuesday nights, then you are assigned to a team that plays only on Tuesday nights. If you sign up for Thursday nights, then you are assigned to a team that plays only on Thursday nights. Each night of play is a separate event, and Tuesday teams never play against Thursday teams. There is no restriction stopping you from playing both leagues, so sign up for Tuesdays *and* Thursdays if you like!

Policy Alert!

Before you sign up for our events, please beware of two changes that went into effect last year:

• UPA Memberships No Longer Required! - Yes, you read correctly. You will not have to renew your UPA memberships to play the upcoming season. We realize that the lifting of UPA membership requirements is a big departure from the past. Please look over this informational page if you need clarification.
