Welcome to the home for Ultimate Frisbee players in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Come support the Bay Area Disc Association and its many year-round programs and leagues for youth and adults, in the company of other players and fans of Ultimate Frisbee! Take part in the Bay Area premier of Chasing Sarasota, a documentary about the Portland men's ultimate team's quest for a national title, and enjoy delicious gourmet pizza, beer, wine and other refreshments in the brand new and much celebrated New Parkway Theater in Oakland. The event date is Sunday, March 10th, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM. Admission = $5 for youths, $10 for adults. Open the online invitation to reserve your seat and pay online.
Huck Cancer returns with registrations opening Friday, January 4th at noon. The fourth annual co-ed hat tournament takes place March 9, 2013 on the beautiful turf fields at Crocker Amazon from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. As usual, we will be raising money to benefit LIVESTRONG in solidarity with our friend, Eric Arons.
We have hit our goal of $50,000 each of the last two years running, and we have raised nearly $150,000 combined over three years. Just about all of us have been touched by cancer, whether we're fighting it ourselves or standing by a loved one, neighbor, co-worker or other friend. This is a good chance for us to take a swing back and to have a great time playing Ultimate!
Our goal is to raise $50,000 again, and we have prizes and incentives for players and fundraisers. Remember, just because you can't play doesn't mean you can't be involved. Non-playing fundraisers brought in thousands of dollars last year.
Check out the Huck Cancer tournament home page for more information.
Stay warm by playing Ultimate all winter long. Here are the latest happenings:
Youth Winter League - The Youth Division invites boys and girls in high school and middle school, from ages 10 to 18, to join our developmental league. The main goal is to have fun and improve skills in preparation for the Youth Spring Club League and the HS/MS State Championships during the latter half of the school year. Now in its second year after a successful debut one year ago, this is an awesome opportunity for kids to learn the sport from our deep talent pool of adult players. All skill levels from beginners to advanced are welcome. At all times, we will emphasize Spirit Of The Game. For more information, visit the Youth Winter League home page.
Adult Leagues - A full slate of events runs through March. See:

Need help keeping track of it all? Check for updates and announcements on our Leagues Main Page, and make sure you get connected on our Mailing Lists & Facebook page (see below).
Our NEWS list is the largest Ultimate-related list in the country (according to an informal search on Yahoogroups), and we use it as the all-in-one Bay Area news channel for upcoming league registrations, tournament announcements, pick-up games, club team try-outs, and other disc related questions or announcements. As an active player in or near the San Francisco area, you cannot afford to not be on this list.
Our COMMUNITY list is the slightly less moderated, almost-anything-goes channel for local Ultimate players to connect with others. Here, we share news about carpools to tournaments, lost & found, apartments, local bands, gallery openings, and the occasional job posting. This list is also a place to practice the fine art of trash-talking. Posts to this list tend to be more peer-to-peer, by and for Ultimate players only.
NOTE: At this time, we are still trying to figure out our social media strategy, so when using Facebook, keep in mind that it is not the main source of information for any Bay Area Disc happenings. To really stay on top of Ultimate-related news in our area, check back to this web site regularly, and subscribe yourself to the News List, as described above. We guarantee that the web site and / or the email list are the primary channels of information. Facebook will become more integral to our operations once we've gotten some stuff figured out.
